William R. "Butch" Beard, 52, of Rushville, died Jan. 3, 2009.
Born Oct. 12, 1956 in Rushville, he was the son of William and Edith (Kennedy) Beard; his mother, a Rushville resident, survives.
Mr. Beard worked at Rushville City Utilities for 27 years (1978-2004). He was a member of Rushville Eagles Lodge and active with the Rush County Nursing Home Riders.
Survivors in addition to his mother include sisters, Barbara (Mark) Click of Rushville, Brenda (Philip) Dearinger of Rushville and Beverly (Jeremy) Jobe of Connersville; niece, Kristy Showalter of Connersville; nephews, Todd Click of Rushville, Craig Click of Indianapolis and Doug Click of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and two great-nieces.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Roger Abraham officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Regional Hospice or the Rush County Nursing Home Riders.

Billy & I grew up together attending K-9th grade together, we were in the same Cub Scout Troop (Billy's mom (Edith) and David Martin's mom (Gloria) were our den mothers), on the same baseball team and many, many memories growing up together "on the streets" of Jackson, Sexton & Arthur.

Butch was one of my best friends.I miss him and his sence of humor. We had a lot of fun times together. Butch could make you laugh, even if you were in a bad mood. We were buddies and I miss him and all the fun we had.|
