Elizabeth Kester was daughter of John and Sarah (Pound) Kester. She was born 03 Jan 1802 in Shelby County KY. Elizabeth married Reuben Beauchamp, son of Isaac Beauchamp and Hetty Hester Beauchamp of Kentucky. Their marriage was on 22 Nov 1822 in Shelby County KY.

Reuben and Elizabeth (Kester) Beauchamp had at least eight children:

Lucinda B. Beauchamp 04 Oct 1823
Hetta "Hetty/Hester" Taylor Beauchamp 20 Jul 1825
Sarah A Beauchamp 05 Oct 1827

William Curtis Beauchamp 25 Nov 1832
Isaac Preston Beauchamp 14 May 1837
John H. Beauchamp abt. 1839
Rhoda F. Beauchamp 10 Jun 1842

Lucinda was born in Shelby County KY. By the time their second daughter Hetta was born, the family had moved to Indiana. The 1830 census includes Reuben H. Beauchamp in Vigo County IN. The 1840 census also has the household of Reuben Beauchamp in Prairie Creek, Vigo County, IN.

Elizabeth died 01 May 1846, and was buried at Second Prairie Creek Cemetery. Elizabeth was buried two plots south of her father John Kester, who preceded her in death on 18 Sep 1839. Also buried near Elizabeth are children Rhoda, who preceded Elizabth in death on 28 Sep 1845, and John, who died 19 Oct 1849 (about three years after Elizabeth).

On 25 Jun 1846, less than two months after Elizabeth's death, Reuben married widow Drucilla (Hampton) Ferguson. Drucilla had married William Ferguson on 20 Jul 1841 in Vigo County IN. Reuben Beaucahmp probably remarried so soon after Elizabeth's death to help care for his young children.

Reuben's second marriage (to Drucilla) was conducted by Benoni Trueblood, father-in-law to Reuben and Elizabeth's daughter Hetty Taylor (Beauchamp) Trueblood. Hetty had married Benoni Trueblood's son William Gregory Trueblood on 23 Dec 1840. The marriage of William Ferguson and Drucilla Hampton (Drucilla's prior marriage) had also been performed by Benoni Trueblood.

Before the 1850 census, when Reuben and Drucilla Beauchamp were living in Linton Twp., Vigo Co., IN, additional children had been born:

Margaret Beauchamp - abt. 1847
Susan Beauchamp - abt. 1849-1850

In the 1850 census, Nancy, William, and Isaac were still at home, along with the two younger children of Reuben and Drucilla, and 5-year old Elvira Ferguson (daughter of Drucilla from her earlier marriage).

The 1860 census again includes the household of Reuben and Drucilla Beauchamp in Linton Township, Vigo County, IN. Reuben and Drucilla had additional children

Reuben H. Beauchamp - abt. 1852
Nathan Beauchamp - 26 Jul 1854

Also in the 1860 household were older children William and Isaac Beauchamp and Drucilla's daugher from her previous marriage, 15-year old Elvira Ferguson. Thomas Beauchamp, a 17-year old farm laborer, was also living with the family for the 1860 census.

Reuben died 02 Jul 1869 and was buried in Second Prairie Creek Cemetery, Vigo County, IN. Both tombstones (Reuben's and Elizabeth's) are near the western edge of the Cemetery, although not next to each other. Elizabeth's stone is located about 25 stones south of Rueben's and one or two rows further west.
