Myrtle Carey Manning is the daughter of Daniel Joseph Carey (1841-1912) and Sarah Ann Ferguson Carey (1847-1912). Her maternal grandparents are Noah Ferguson (ca. 1819-ca. 1890) and Mary Catherine Strain Ferguson (Dec. 1821-ca. 1915). Her maternal great grandparents are Andrew Strain, Jr. (1791-1871) and Nancy Kidd Strain (1799-1887). Myrtle was married to William Felton Manning (1877-1919) about 1902. They have four children:

2. Herman Reese Manning (1905-1960)

DALTON, Ga.--Mrs. Myrtle Carry Manning, 82, died Friday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. S. P. Davies and Mrs. Donald McArthur and a son, William Earl Manning, all of Dalton.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ed Padgett and Dr. Robert Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in West Hills Cemetery.
