Paul R. Black

DECATUR - Paul R. Black, 78, of Macon, IL passed away at 7:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon, IL with visitation from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials may be given to Macon Presbyterian Church or FCRV.
Mr. Black was born on November 25, 1931 in Macon, IL, the son of John Robert and Edna Ruth (Moma) Black.
He was employed as a Typewriter Serviceman for Striglos Office Equipment in Decatur for 25 years, and was also a Truck Driver for 10 years, and a Farmer. He was a Life Member of the Macon Presbyterian Church, where he was Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and former Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of Soy City Campers and was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1954 during the Korean War.
He married Joann Stratman on January 26, 1952. He is survived by: his wife of Macon, IL; two sons, Paul Douglas Black and wife Connie of Moweaqua and Martin Richard Black and wife Ludene of Taylorville, IL; three daughters, Dawn Marie Book of Macon, IL, Meribeth Ruth Rogers and husband Buddy of Macon, IL and Janet Kay Ketchum and husband Mike of Springfield, IL; step mother, Gladys Black of Moweaqua, IL; one brother, Richard Moma Black and wife Marilyn of Decatur, IL; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Black; one sister, Dorothy Jostes; and twin great grandsons.
