JACOB M. BARE
Mr. Jacob M. Bare died at his home near Avis on Saturday, March 11th, from cancer of the stomach, aged about 73 years. Deceased was a son of the late John Bare, and is survived by his wife and six children -- John H. Bare of Bloomington, Ill., Lynn H. Bare and R. Wallace Bare; Mrs. R.B. Lambert of Waynesboro, Mrs. Otis B. Cooley of Rockingham, and Miss Alma Bare. Deceased was the last of the family of three sons and three daughters of John Bare and was born and died at his father's home on the banks of the South river four miles north of Greenville. The funeral took place Monday at 2 o'clock and the burial in Calvary church cemetery.

Jaoob M. Bare, a prominent farmer of. Augusta County and father of Mrs. Otis B. Cooley, of near Harrisonburg,'died Saturday night at his home on South River,' near Stuart's Draft, He had been in declining health for several years, suffering from a cancerous affection, but was only confined to the house for ten days prior to his death. Last Tuesday his condition became critical and the members of his family who were but a distance were summoned to his bedside. They were all with him when the end came Saturday night.
The funeral was held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Calvary Chapel, near Stuart's Draft, Mr, Bare was born seventy-three years ago last January on the farm on which be died. He was a man of intelligence, a successful farmer, and influencial in his neighborhood, although quiet and somewhat retiring in his manner. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Deceased is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mary Hawpe, of Augusta County, three sons John H., III, of Bloomington, Lynn H., of near Staunton: and Wallace H., of Stuarts Draft; and three daughters Mrs. Otis B. Cooley, Harrisonburg; Mrs. R. B. Lambert, Waynesboro; and Miss Alma W. Bare, who resides at home.
