Unfortunately Sudie has no headstone, as is recorded in the Cedar Grove record shown below. What is very unusual is that there is no lot given for her burial, instead only a note of her being placed in the cemetery Recieving Vault pictured here. Questioning of the cemetery experts at the New Bern Library indicates that this vault was used as a holding area while waiting for a perminent grave site to be purchased for the deceased. Over the years, for various reasons, for a few people, this never happened and records suggest that Sudie may be one of the ones still housed here.
