Lawrence was the husband of Sylvia (Donahue) Beers 1928-2002

He was the son of Dewey H Beers and Ruth C (Hollen) Beers

Lawrence J. Beers, a native of Ashville, residing in Erie, died in Hamot Hospital, Erie, yesterday, August 1970, He was born August 2, 1928, son of Dewey and Ruth (Hollen) Beers. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia, 5 sons: James P, Thomas, John, Joseph, and Timothy; his parents of Ashville; a sister and 3 brothers: Paul, Harold, Merle, and Mrs Louis DeAngelis. He was a former member of St Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville. He graduated from Cresson High School in 1948. Friends received at Gib bons Funeral Home, Ashville (Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, August 21, 1970)

Lawrence J. Beers, 42, of Erie, formerly of Ashville, died at 6:30 am Monday, Aug 10, at Hamot Hospital, Erie, after a brief illness. Born, Aug 3, 1928, in Ashville, he was a son of Dewey and Ruth (Hollen) Beers. Surviving are his parents: widow, Sylvia; and five sons: Seaman James Patrick, with the U S Navy, Great Lakes, IL., and Thomas, John, Joseph and Timothy, all at home. He was a brother of Paul, married to the former Alice Sullivan, Willoughby, O; Harold, married to the former Margaret Frank, Hollidaysburg; merle, married to the former Jean Boland, Buffalo, NY; and Marie, wife of Louis DeAngelis, Dysart. He was a graduate of Cresson High School, Class of 1948. Mr. Beers was a former member of St. Thomas' Catholic Church, Ashville, where Requiem Mass will be held at 10 am this Friday, by the Rev. Fr. Charles Diamond. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. (Union Press Courier Patton 1970)
