Ashville--Mrs. Sarah E. (Troxell) Beers, aged 77, died yesterday at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fred Beers of Ashville after an extended illness. She was a daughter of Alex and Matilda (Gates) Troxell and was born in Cambria County. Surviving are two children, Dewey Beers, Ashville, and Mrs. Clara Fry, Johnstown. Mrs. Beers was a sister of C.E. Troxell, Ebensburg; Mrs. Emma Flemming, Flinton; Mrs. Rebecca Peterson, Juniata; B.F. Troxell, Fallentimber; Mrs. Nina Sneath, Flinton; C.J. Troxell, Glasgow; Calvin Troxell, Altoona; Mrs. Margaret Cornelius, Cresson; Mrs. Nancy Thomas, Blandburg; and Mr Clarence Troxell, Johnstown. Mrs. Beers was a member of the United Brethren Church at Fallentimber.
ASHVILLE--Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Beers, widow of Samuel H. Beers, who died last week at her home here, were conducted Saturday. Rev. A. L. Barnette of Glasgow officiated at the services which were conducted in the Beaver Valley Untied Brethren Church. Interment was in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs Beers was a daughter of Alexander and Matilda (Gates) Troxell, both deceased, and was the first of a family of 11 to pass away. Surviving are two children, 10 brothers and sisters and 16 grandchildren. Six children preceded her in death (The Daily Tribune--Johnstown Dec 7, 1938)

Mrs. Sarah E. Beers, died at the home of her daughter-in-law Mrs. Fred Beers, in Ashville, Thursday morning at 3 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. She was a daughter of Alex and Matilda (Gates) Troxell and was born in Roseland near Glasgow on September 15, 1861. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Mrs. Clara Fry of Johnstown and Dewey Beers of Ashville and these brothers and sisters: C. E. Troxell of Ebensburg, Mrs. Emma Flemming of Linton, Mrs. Rebecca Peterson of Juniata, B. F. Troxell of Fallen Timber, Mrs. Nina Sneath of Flinton, C. J. Troxell of Glasgow, Calvin Troxell of Lakemont Terrace Altoona, Mrs. Margaret Cornelius of Cresson, Mrs. Nancy Thomas of Blandburg and Clarence Troxell of Johnstown. Mrs. Beers was a member of the Fiske United Brethren church at Fallen Timber. She had made her home at Ashville for the past eighteen years, since the death of her husband. Short funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Fred Beers in Ashville. The cortege than left for Beaver Valley United Brethren church were services were conducted by Rev. A. L. Barnett. Interment was in the Beaver Valley cemetery.
