On January 28, 2010, our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at his home with his family by his side after many years of cancer.

Lowell was born August 22, 1941 in Murray, Utah to Hans E. and Helen Bagley Beckman.

He married Elizabeth Decker on December 27, 1966 in the Manti, Utah Temple. They later had three children and raised their family in Sandy. Lowell was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the light of his life.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a faithful priesthood holder. He treasured his years as a missionary in Central America and held many callings throughout his life, including ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. He enjoyed working with people and spent his career in sales.

Lowell is survived by his wife Elizabeth, son Roger Beckman (fiance Caroline), daughters Jen Washburn and Teresa Smith (Shawn), sisters Suzanne Thomas (Jerry) and Pat Labrum (Dale), his five beloved grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Lyn Beckman, and son-in-law Dave Washburn.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the Union Fourth Ward Chapel, 1834 East Creek Road. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the Church on Tuesday from 11:00-11:45 a.m.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
