CARTHAGE -- Funeral services for Charles Bristol Grisham, 76, of Carthage, will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 17, from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville.
Mr. Grisham died on Wed., June 14, 2000, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, after suffering a stroke at his home on Tuesday evening.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1923, in the Maggart Community of Smith County to the late Charlie Samuel and Vallie Mai Sadler Grisham. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1941. From 1954 until his retirement in 1979, he owned and operated Grisham's Upholstery in Carthage. He was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ since 1965. On April 2, 1957, he married the former Mable Edna Bartlett, who died on Sept. 1, 1997.
His family includes a sister, Johnnie L. Bean of Dickson; and a sister-in-law, Mina Grisham of Cookeville.
