Daughter of Matthew Alexander Medlin (Gadsden Co., Tn) and Hattie Sue Branch Medlin (Haywood Co., Tn). Maternal grandparents were John Needham Branch (Haywood Co., Tn) and Martha Alice Davis Branch ((Brunswick Co., Va), paternal grandparents were James Medlin (North Carolina) and Mary L. Johns Medlin.
She moved to Caruthersville, Mo from Tennessee when she was six years old, attending Caruthersville schools thru the 8th grade. She was married to Clifford McDuffy Christian on June 19, 1928 in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1974.
Mother of Donald Leon Christian, Billy Gene Christian, Raburn Clell Christian, Rebecca Sue Christian Eledge Simonton, John Wayne Christian, Patricia Ann Christian Whitson, Wanda Lou Christian Mccall, Brenda Kay Christian Darnell and Lynne Christian Butler.
Siblings were Finnis DeWitt Medlin, Wilmer Branch Medlin, James V. B. Medlin (Jimmy), Martha Laverne Medlin, Woodrow Wilson Medlin (Jack), Khuron Medlin (Connie) and Mary Sue Medlin Jones.
She was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Dyersburg, Tn.

Cecile K. Christian, 89, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti, Mo.
Born November 7, 1909 in Alamo, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Matthew A. Medlin and Hattie Sue Branch Medlin. She was also preceded in death by one son, Rayburn, one daughter, Rebecca, four brothers, and one sister.
Cecile was united in marriage to Clifford M. Christian on June 19, 1928 in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1974.
She had attended Caruthersville schools and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Dyersburg, Tenn.
Mrs. Christian leaves three sons: Donald Leon Christian of Redlands, Calif., Billy Gene Christian of Emporia, Kans., and John Christian of St. Louis, Mo.; Four daughters: Patricia Whitson, Wanda McCall, and Lynne Collins of Caruthersville, and Brenda Darnell of Braggadocio, Mo.; Fourteen grandchildren; Twenty great-grandchildren; One brother, Jimmy Medlin, of Kennett, Mo.; and One sister, Mary Sue Jones, of Ocala, Fla.
Funeral services for Mrs. Christian were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 24, 1998 at the HS. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was at the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville with H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
