Samantha married JOSEPH EBENEZER BENJAMIN, 04 Apr, 1866, in Kankakee, IL. To this union, 6 children were born: WILLIAM, EMMA, IDA, ARTHUR, MABEL, and, JOHN.

In the 1870 Federal Census, Samantha is found in Belmont, Jackson County, MN, with Joseph and one child, Ida Jane. Nearby is Joseph's parents, Elijah and Cynthia Benjamin and four children. Also nearby is Samuel D. and Mary Lockwood, four of their children at home, and, Samuel A. Lockwood farming alone.

"Hebron Journal Regester 9-5-1940: Hubbell's oldest resident, Mrs. Samantha Benjamin, aged 93 years passed away at her home, Saturday, August 31. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ahrendts at the Methodist Church on Monday. Her daughter, Mrs. Mable Alexander of Superior came Friday to be at her bedside during her last illness."

Death of Samantha Jane Benjamin
Mrs. Samantha Jane Benjamin of Hubbell, Nebr., passed away at her home there, Saturday, August 31, 1940 at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 12 days.
She was born in Ontario, Canada on June 19, 1847 and married Joseph E. Benjamin who preceded her in death. She had lived in the Hubbell vicinity many years.
Funeral services were held at the Hubbell Methodist church Monday afternoon with Rev. Ahrends officiating. Burial in the Hubbell cemetery.
