Death: Nov. 3, 1882

Son of James Harrison Graham (b. 1811 in Horry County, South Carolina, d. New Salem, Rusk County, Texas, USA) and and Elizabeth Ann (nee Floyd) Graham (b.19 Feb 1806 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA and died bet. 1850 and 1860 in Rusk Co., Texas.) Married Sarah "Sallie" Simmons 26 Oct 1865 in Collin County, Texas.

William worked with his father in the family's grist mill and tannery until the Civil War, when he and his brother-in-law, Sharp R. Whitley, joined a group known as the New Salem Invincibles which became Company F of the 7th Regular Texas Cavalry. The two young men later served in Sibley's Brigade. After the war Wm.L. returned home and married Sarah Simmons. Following his marriage, William worked in the grist mill until moving to Collin County in 1867 where he settled near Lucas, then called Old Willow Springs. - Bio reference supplied by Findagrave contributor Sherry (#47010546)
