Earl Foust of Island Ford dies at home
A longtime member of Disabled American Veterans, Earl Foust, 71, of the Island Ford community, Lake City Rt. 1, died last Thursday morning at his home.
Foust, a native of the area where he lived, served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Foust was a miner before and immediately after the war and retired from the state Department of Transportation. He was a member of the West Side Baptist Church.
Foust is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Nance Foust; three brothers, Theodore and Edgar Foust, both of Lake City Rt. 1, and Verna Lee Foust of Heiskell; and five sisters, Mrs. Beulah Farmer of Jacksboro Rt. 1, Mrs. Willie Carden, Mrs. Gladys Cox, both of Lake City, Mrs. Helen Wilson of Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Betty Chittum of Spring City.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Cox Funeral Home in Lake City with Revs. Warner Hawkins and B. Ray Phillips officiating. Burial was in Island Ford Cemetery.
