Funeral service for Lida E. Waddell Woodall, 86, will be Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Brown and Glenn Waddell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Woodall died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her children. She was born January 6, 1925, in Morgan County to Albert Lee Waddell and Lela Orean Roy Waddell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lester "Bud" Woodall, two sons, Wayne Woodall and Alton Lamar "Cotton" Woodall, three brothers, Albert Leon Waddell, Louie Edward Waddell and George Roy Waddell, and three sisters, Lela May Cook, Inez Chaney, and Lorene Reynolds.
She was a life long resident of the Salem Community and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She loved gospel music and was a loving person, always willing to help someone in need. She loved her children and was a very special Mawmaw and Granny to her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Alacare Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate loving care given to their mother. Survivors include two sons, James "Worm" Woodall (Peggy) and Mike "Woody" Woodall, both of Hartselle; five daughters, Betty Harris Waits (Enis) of Hartselle, Gail Brown Johnson (Billy) of Laceys Spring, Brenda Baker (Harlan) of Falkville, Dale Ball of Vinemont and Teresa Woodall Tolbert (Ricky) of Hartselle; one brother, Glenn Waddell (Merle) of Hartselle; daughter-in-law, Linda Woodall of Falkville: 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Harris, Allen Harris, Jason Baker, Justin Baker, Jeremy Woodall, Evan Cottingham and Chip Perry.
