Rites For Four Crash Victims Set Wednesday

Christmas Trip Home For Morris Family Ends In Tragedy

A simultaneous funeral for four Hartselle 2 residents who were killed in a tragic accident shortly after starting home for Christmas from Michigan Saturday night, was announced today, while the mother and wife, only survivor of the fatal crash, fought for her life in an Indiana hospital.

Funeral services for Millard L. Morris, 31, his two sons, Charles 7, and Gary, 4, and his niece, Maxine Woodall, 13, will be held at Oak Grove church tomorrow at 2 p. m. The four were killed instantly near LaGrange, Ind., in a car-bus crash. Mrs. Morris was taken to LaGrange hospital where today she was said to have an even chance to live.

All five had left Kalamazoo, Mich., where Mr. Morris was employed, for a trip to Hartselle where they hoped to spend the Christmas holidays with relatives.

With less than a hundred miles of the trip completed their car collided with a Greyhound bus near LaGrange. Fifteen people in the bus were hospitalized. All in the Morris car, with the exception of Mrs. Morris, were killed instantly.

Services Scheduled

Services for the Morris family will be conducted by Rev. Grady Wood, Rev. Thelma Vaughn, and Rev. Clarence Davis, with interment to be in the adjoining cemetery, Peck directing.

Pallbearers for Mr. Morris will be Omer Morris, Adis Morris, Fred Morris, Junio Moore, Hoyt Moore and Earl Morris, Jr.

He is survived in his wife, Mrs. Ruth Morris; his parents, Mr. and See RITES on Page 2

Services for Maxine Woodall will be conducted by Rev. L. E. Toone, and Rev. F. O. Parker, interment in the adjoining cemetery directed by Mutual Service.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Woods; one sister, Betty Woodall; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hardin, all of Kalamazoo.
