CONRAD BETCHER ZUENDEL
6-16-1855 -- 4-6-1925

Conrad Betcher Zuendel, a lifelong and highly respected resident of Kingsley twp., died at the family home on the Zuendel farm, at Starr, on Monday, April 6th, 1925, aged about 70 years, after an illness of 10 days from influenza, complicated with other ailments.

He was a son of Henry Adam and Anna Christina Zuendel and was born at Starr, June l6, 1855. He was reared to manhood there and for most of his life had cultivated the farm on which he was born and died.

For many years he also served his township faithfully as a school director, assessor and collector of taxes. Mr. Zuendel was an honest, upright citizen and a kind neighbor. He was of jovial disposition and his friends were limited by his acquaintances. During his illness he was a patient sufferer and was never heard to murmur a complaint. "Coon", as we familiarly knew him, will be much missed by a host of friends in the community.

He had never married. He is survived by 2 sisters and 3 brothers as follows: Miss Elizabeth of Starr; George of Cooper Tract; Henry and John M. and Miss Mary E., of Starr.

Funeral services in his memory will be held at the family home at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 9th, the services to be conducted by Rev. A. H. Zahniser and Rev. R. F. Walter of Tionesta. Interment will be made in the Zuendel cemetery at Starr.

Hymns sung by a selected choir were "Abide With Me", "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "Rock of Ages". Pall bearers were: Floyd, Harl, Howard, Lester, Glenn and Walter Zuendel.
