Forest M. Zuendel
Forest M. Zuendel, well known Erie Railroad engineer, died at the City Hospital in Meadville at 8 o'clock, Tuesday morning, Dec. 10. 1935, after a long illness.
He was born March 12, 1882, at Ross Run, Pa., the son of Catherine Meley and Christopher Zuendel, both deceased. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. S. C. Davis, of Jeannette, Mrs. D. F. Carrier, of Hollidaysburg, and Christina Zuendel of Jamestown, N.Y., and many relatives.
Deceased was a member of the B. of L. F. & E. of the Erie Railroad, the F. O. Eagles and the L. O. O. Moose, members of the same attending in a body the funeral services held on Wednesday evening at 7:30 at Byham's funeral home, Meadvllle. Beautiful flora tributes were mute evidence of the esteem in which he was held.
Further services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Zuendel Evangelical church at Starr, Pa., with interment in adjoining cemetery. Rev. J. H. Jelbert, of the Bethany M. E. church, of Meadville, officiated at both services.
Inaccuracies, Typos, etc.:
"Catherine Meley" should be spelled "Catherine Mealy".
Obituary collection, kept by Ruth Armeda (Winans) Straughen (1900-1983). Obit was probably published in a Meadville, PA paper.
The reference to "Ross Run, Pa." is referring to an area where Ross Run creek dumps into the Tionesta River in Forest Co., PA.
