Henry Osborne Aaron, 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away Monday June 9, 2008 at the Christiana Hospital.
He was born in Wilmington in 1923, son of the late John Henry and Emily Bland Aaron, loving husband of the late Sarah G. "Sally Aaron. Ossie grew up in Carney's Point, NJ, attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass and attended Princeton University. His college term was interrupted to serve in the Army in WWII from 1943 to 1946. He then re-entered Princeton University to graduate in 1948 with studies in chemical engineering and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ossie married in 1948 and started his career at E.I. DuPont in the Design Division Engineering Dept., Atomic Engineering, Explosive Sect Design and retired as a senior consultant after 41 years. A devoted member of Concord Presbyterian Church, he enjoyed movies, classical music, reading, computers, and most importantly, his loving family.
He was preceded in death by brother, John B. Aaron. Survivors include his 3 daughters, Sally Berger and husband Andrew, Betsy Hundert and husband Steve, Emily Schuster and husband Mark; and grandchildren, Max and Harry Berger, Samuel and Jacob Hundert and Kate, Alison and Gary Schuster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday June 13, 2008 at Concord Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Concord Presbyterian Music Dept., 1800 Fairfax Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19803.
