Spc. Phillip N. Sayles, 26, of Jacksonville, Ark., was killed May 28, 2005, in Mosul by a roadside bomb explosion near his secuirty position.
Nick was the kind of young man who was going to do the right thing, and obviously what he felt was the right thing was to go into the military.
Sayles entered the military in May 2002. During his military career, Sayles was awarded the following decorations:
Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
