The death of John Anderson of this city occurred at his home at 2:10 o'clock last Thursday morning. He had been in failing health for the past ten months. The deceased was born in Sweden, on November 6, 1830. He came to this country in 1853, and settled in Lafayette, Indiana. There he was married on March 29, 1855 to Miss Mary Peterson. To this union was born one child, a son, Albert. A year after the birth of the latter the family came to this county, settling on a farm 2― miles east of Otisco. This was the home of the deceased until nine years ago when he moved to this city. In 1863 Mr. Anderson enlisted in Company D, First Minnesota Heavy Artillery from Rochester, and he served with that regiment until the close of the war, being mustered out at Nashville, Tenn., on Sept. 27, 1865, and honorably discharged at Fort Snelling. Mr. Anderson's wife died on Dec. 28, 1881. In October, 1884, he was married to Miss Anna Johnson. Three children were born to them and all died in infancy. The deceased is survived by his widow and one son, Albert of Otisco, and one adopted daughter, Mrs. James E. Jones of this city. The funeral was held from the house at 2 o'clock Saturday afterŽnoon, Rev. Nyquist of the Swedish Lutheran church officiating and inŽterment was made in Woodville cemŽetery. The deceased was an excellent citizen and had many friends thruŽout the county.
