Feb. 17, 2010 Shreveport Caddo Parish Louisiana, USA
Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a local woman in connection with a shooting last night that left a man dead.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. on February 17, 2010, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Fulton Street. Upon arrival, officers found 34 year old Kevin Cordell Smith (note: this was the name originally provided by police) lying in a driveway in front of a residence there suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Smith was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives and crime scene investigators were dispatched and immediately began their investigation. Based on witness accounts of the shooting and other evidence recovered at the crime scene, investigators have arrested 28 year old Heavenly Frazier of the 7100 block of Wallace Avenue in Shreveport and charged her with one count of second degree murder. Detectives believe that Frazier and the victim, who have been romantically involved, had some type of dispute during which Frazier produced a firearm and shot Smith. Officers located Frazier at her residence on Wallace Avenue and have also recovered the gun they believe was used in the crime. Heavenly Frazier was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
