Shreveport police investigate overnight homicide
Shreveport police are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a local woman overnight after an argument turned violent.
At 3:11 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 5700 block of Ellison Street.
On arrival, officers found the body of 46-year-old Etta Thomas inside. She had been shot at least once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives and crime scene investigators were sent to the house and after talking to witnesses and studying evidence, determined that Thomas and her boyfriend, 50-year-old Conner Brown, had gotten into a heated argument. At some time during this, police believe, Brown pulled out a gun and shot Thomas.
Brown, who lived at the Ellison Street with Thomas, was arrested by investigators. He has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree murder and several outstanding traffic warrants.
