Son of Tom and Anette Andersen (Ruteig) Iverson, both of whom immigrated to the United States from Norway and who homesteaded at Valentine in what became part of Petroleum County, Montana. Andrew married Helen Wagar on September 10, 1929 at the home of Helen's parents in Bonner, Missoula County, Montana. Helen had come to be the teacher for the one room school near the Iverson homestead. After a few years Andrew and Helen bought "Sky Hook Ranch", part of the former Hall Clement Ranch located on Flatwillow Creek, about eighteen miles South of Winnett. Here they nurtured their growing family of five children and raised sheep and cattle. Andrew was a progressive farmer and enjoyed the mechanics which would keep many different types of farm machinery running. He was a committed Christian and served as a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roundup. He was a soft spoken and quiet person who enjoyed the respect of the entire Flatwillow Community to which he and his wife belonged.
