Henry Duellman

A requiem high mass was held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Bernard's Catholic Church for Henry Duellman, 80, who died at his home Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1961. The Rev. Raymond Schulz was celebrant of the mass. The Rev. Myron Meinen of Wuerzburg was deacon and the Rev. George Becker of Colby was sub-deacon.

Mass servers were three grandsons, Danny Duellman, David and Paul Klinkhammer. John Kelley also served.

Interment was made in the Colby Cemetery. Pallbearers were five sons, Armond, Frank, Matt, Paul and Edward, and a son-in-law, Leonard Beissel.

A general rosary service was held at the Polnaszek Funeral Home on Friday evening.

Henry Duellman was born May 9, 1881, at Fountain City and received his education there. He farmed in Buffalo County and in the Dorchester, Marshfield and Colby areas, and then owned and operated the Farmers Home Tavern in Abbotsford until 1947, when he retired.

He was married in 1904 at Hartford to Miss Mary Thorne, who preceded him in death in 1937. His second marriage took place in 1939 at Abbotsford to Miss Vivian Yeager of Chicago.

Mr. Duellman was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Parish and a former member of the Dorchester School Board.

Surviving him are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Bernard Klinkhammer and Mrs. Oscar Seidel, Abbotsford; Mrs. Leonard Beissel, Ramsay, Mich.; and Mrs. Herbert Hollman, Hillsboro, Ore.; five sons, Armond, Tomahawk; Mat, Stetsonville; Frank, Dorchester; Edward, Rhinelander, and Paul, Detroit; 57 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ferdinand Schettler, Arcadia.

He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and four sisters.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Anna Duellman, Rollingstone, Minn.; Wendalin Duellman, Utica, Minn.; Adolph Duellman, Winona, Minn., Arnie and don Duellman and the Misses Janet, Delores and Diana Duellman, Anoka, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Hilarion Duellman, Mrs. Berthilda Duellman, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Duellman, Daniel and William Duellman, and Daniel and Lemander Piel, Fountain City; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kaiser, Marshfield, and Mrs. Rose Brill, Wausau.
