ABIGAIL GARBER, 92, VICTIM OF ILLNESS
Final Rites Will Be Held Sunday Afternoon
Mrs. Abigail Garber, 92, died, at 12:50 a.m. Friday, at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Garber, two miles southeast of North Manchester, after a serious illness of 11 days.
She was born September 17, 1856, in Whitley county, to John and Catherine Arnet Steward. She married Isaiah Ga.rber, October 7, 1878. He died in 1941.
Surviving are two sons, Roscoe Garber at whose home she died in Wabash county and Milan Garber, Huntington county; a daughter Mrs. Alma Straughn, Kokomo; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a half-sister Mrs. Carrie Barger, Leiters Ford, Ind. A daughter, Mrs. Ora Bechtold, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garber had spent most of life in the Bippus community.
The body was taken to the Baigley funeral home and later removed to her home in Bippus where friends may call.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran church, two miles north of Bippus, of which she was a member, with the Rev. H. R. Ogle, North Manchester, officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
