Raveley (as all his friends and family called him) served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1967. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal with one star. He was a member of the American Legion Post 238. He enjoyed camping and was a Nascar fan. Raveley loved to tell jokes and play cards and he also enjoyed being around children.

Preceded in death by:
Paul Reedless Smith; and grandchildren, Caleb Leon Smith
and Quinton Joseph Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Carol Smith; 3 sons, Keith, Kevin and Kurt; brothers, Rodney and Paul. He had 3 grandchildren, Michael, Stephen and Tyler Smith. He loved to watch his grandsons play baseball and football.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
