A three-year-old Holts Summit boy drowned Sunday morning near the 36-mile marker at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County.
The victim, Brendan Iler, was discovered in about six feet of water two or three feet from a dock, according to the Missouri State Water Patrol report.
The mother, Jamie Iler, reported she and Jeffrey Steele, a family friend, heard a door shut at about 8 a.m. and they began searching for the child.
At 8:36 a.m., the child was pulled from the water by Steele and CPR was administered.
The child was transported by Staff for Life Helicopter to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, where he was pronounced dead at 10:46 a.m.
