Gerald Babcock was the husband of Ann L. Babcock for 55 years. Son of William Warren Babcock and Marjorie Edna Hill Babcock Bentley. He was the father of Cheryl Rhona Babcock (Kenneth)Wilson, Gary Stewart (Lynn)Babcock, Zachary Kirk (Vicki)Babcock and Craig Warren Babcock.
Grandfather of Charles Jeremy (Shelly)Melton, Michael Derrick Melton, Adam Bradley (Ann)Melton, Zac Ariah Babcock, Lauren Kathleen Babcock, Sarah Emily Babcock and Savannah Nicole Babcock.
He also has four great granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his parents William Warren Babcock and Marjorie Edna Bentley, his brother William Babcock, Jr. and sisters Betty Fly and Barbara Story and his grandson, Michael Derrick Melton.
Gerald Babcock was a retired veteran of the USMC, after serving 27 years, with the rank of MGYSGT E-9. He enlisted at the age of 17 in WWII. He fought in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring, he became the D.A.V. representative for the State of TN Employment Security.
He enjoyed bowling and watching football, especially the Washington Redskins and the Tennessee Titans. He was a great father, husband,grandfather and great grandfather. Even though he was gone from home a lot while his children were growing up, he taught his children to swim and bowl. He took his kids to parks and rode them around piggy back. He made great memories. He loved to travel and showing up at his grandchildren's events. He was a man of strong morals and ethics. He believed in working hard, his family, his country and doing his best at all things and always keeping his word. He set a great example for us all.
