Anna was a Domestic servant when she lived in Chicago. In 1880 she was 23yrs and living with a family who had a son and two young daughters. She moved to Denver after she met her soon to be husband Henry L. Shimpfky. She settled in Auroria, around Cherry Creek. Here she either ran a boarding house or worked for one. She had relatives who lived back in Chicago by now because she made several trips back to visit after she met Henry, as old letters indicate. A sister Mary and a brother John who stayed in Chicago, and two brothers, Richard and Washington moved to Denver. Washington moving on to Iowa to raise his family.
Henry and Anna only had one son Harry Amand Shimpfky. They owned their home at 1873 Humbolt St. Which is now underneath St. Josephs Hospital.
Harry went to visit and check on his mother every day. One morning when he went over he found that she had passed away in her sleep.
