Mary passed away at 90 years of age.
Mary was such a special person in the lives of the Shimpfky family.
We met Mary and her husband Clell in Aug of 1956 when we moved to Broomfield, CO. Mary and Clell would be our neighbors and become the most special friends.
To say that Mary loved children would be an understatement. She adored children and loved so much to dote on them. There was nothing she wouldn't do to make a child happy. Hugging and squeezing is what you got when she say you! But Mary had no children of her own, something that was odd to me. I was 5 years old when she met me.
My parents moved into the neighborhood with 4 children and 2 dogs that both had a litter of pups. Mary met us over the back fence and she just couldn't love on those puppies fast enough! She just had to have one and she took a little female cocker spaniel and named her Bambi.
Mary was there for my mother when my older sister Donna passed away so suddenly. She took care of Mom and she took care of us other 3 kids. It was Christmas time so Mary and Clell took us kids out to buy a tree and then helped us decorate it. My parents were in no shape to celebrate.
All my years growing up Mary was there. When I came home to an empty house and didn't know what to do, I went to Mary's and she loved on me and carried me thru.
I loved Mary like a second Mother and it broke my heart when she moved away to Bullhead City, AZ. Her beautiful little house on the corner would never look the same again.
Mary you were such a wonderful warm and caring person. One of a kind! The world has been a better place with you in it and my life was made so wonderful with you too!
