SALADO — Services for David Charles Barnard, 70, of Salado will be private.
Mr. Barnard died Friday, May 6, in a local hospital.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1940, to Charles and Yvonne Barnard in Austin. He received a bachelor's degree in 1963 and received his master's degree in 1967, both from the University of Texas. He worked for 32 years with General Foods and was vice president for sales systems at the combined Kraft and General Foods Co.
He was an officer in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Georgetown, where he served as secretary and treasurer; and was a mentor with the Georgetown schools.
He moved to Salado 12 years ago and owned Barnard Antiques.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Gale; a sister, Lana Gail Hoffer of Houston; and two step-brothers, Ben Morgan and Don Morgan, both of Austin.
