Funeral service for Mildred T. Holcomb, 85, of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Thoma, of the First Assembly of God Elgin, officiating.

Mrs. Holcomb passed away on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012, in Lawton.

Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, Massachusetts on Monday, April 9, 2012.

Mildred was born on February 15th, 1927, in Boston Massachusetts, to Italian immigrants Arthurao Michael and Noreena Amadeao Blasi. She spent her childhood and attended high school in Boston where she met and married James W. Parks. Mildred followed her son to Altus, OK in 1968 where he was stationed. She took a job as a travel agent and that's where she met Charles Nelson Holcomb. After a long courtship she gave in and married the junior pilot at Altus airlines. They ended up buying and expanding Sundown Travel, where she worked, to four locations in 3 cities. During this period she and Charles moved to Lawton, which is when they went into the crop dusting business serving many local farmers. Mildred was a dedicated business women with a strong sense of family.
Mildred is survived by three children: Arthur Parks, Gail DeLonais and James Parks as well as two grandchildren: Jesse Parks and Cierra DeLonais also two great grandchildren: Camryn Cara Parks and Adalynn Elizabeth Rogers. Mildred also leaves behind many dear friends.

In recent years she lost her husband Charles and her dear brother Arthur Blasi of Boston MA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
