Deceased Name: Milton Leroy Pearson

PEARSON Milton Leroy Pearson, passed away May 3, 2001 at his home in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on April 9, 1922 in Dallas, Texas to Milton Leroy and Helen Camilla (Simms) Pearson Sr. He married Elena Lucille Studer on February 21, 1945 in Austin, Texas. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. Milton was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Oklahoma in 1962 where he created his own company, Pearson Claims Service. He was instrumental in writing The Claims Service Manual for the State of Oklahoma. Milton loved to do wood working, creating award winning clocks, and many other "Miltbuilt" pieces. He was Chaplain of Bethany Masonic Lodge #529 and a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille Pearson; his parents, Milton L. and Helen C. Pearson, and his brother, Forest S. Pearson. He is survived by his 4 daughters: Linda L. Saunders of Muskogee, Nancy K. Hyatt of Tulsa, Betty A. Pearson of Oklahoma City, and Sally S. Williams of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren: Wesley Saunders, Scott Saunders, Lauren Saunders, Christopher Hyatt, Cathryn Berger, Sean Stewart, Collin Williams, and Douglas Williams, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Otto and Kay Harrison of New Braunfels, TX, and sister-in-law, Jense Pearson, of Austin, TX; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, May 7 at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Donations may be made to Frontier Hospice, 405-789-2913.
