Private services were held Saturday for George H. Queen, 71, rural route No. 8 who died Friday morning at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mr. Queen was born near Kelly, Kan., but had lived here for a number of years. He retired from Armour & Co. in 1966.
A member of the Baptist Church, he was widely known in rural areas for the floral park he kept next to his home.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina Riddle Queen; two daughters, Mrs. Vic E. Leiser, Kansas City, and Mrs. W.L. Culp, Independence, Mo., three brothers, William H Queen,James M Queen, both of St. Joseph, Mo., and Lester M Queen, St. Paul; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Hart, St. Joseph; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services were at the New Harmony Cemetery near Easton, the Rev. E.C. Chittim officiating. The arrangements were under the direction of Rupp Funeral Home.
