Max...a boy's first dog. We got Max for free on a Sunday afternoon. Max was the runt of the litter, and had worms so bad, that the first night I spent nearly all night with him outside. First thing Monday morning it was to the vet. After that, Max was a wonderful new pet for our 2 year old son. Max and David slept together each night until his passing. Max was a mother...he would take the baby kittens from their mother to clean and snuggle with them, allowing mama around only to feed them. There was no hurry with Max, he would leisurely stroll around the yard, do his business and come back in. We never had to worry about him running off. Max was known by all the children in the neighborhood, no one ever feared him. Eventually cancer got the better of him, we had to put him to sleep. He now rests in our back yard, with a homemade marker.
