Stanley "Scott" Thomas, age 44 lost his 3 year battle with Leukemia on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
Scott was born on February 20, 1962 the son of Stanley and Leanne(Goodman)Thomas in Rock Island, Illinois. He graduated from the Centerville High School with the class of 1981. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Scott also worked for Reliable Culvert and Brice Brothers Construction for several years. On August 26, 1989 he was united in marriage to Vicki Thomas Wendlend; they later divorced. To this union one daughter Vanesa Lynette Thomas was born on September 19, 1990. Scott was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2675.
He was preceded in death by his father Stanley O. Thomas; his maternal grandparents John and Bessie Goodman; paternal grandparents Ben and Eva Thomas; and his daughter Vanesa Lynette Thomas in 2006. Scott is survived by his mother Leanne Thomas of Centerville; brothers, Steve, and his wife Tammie Thomas, and Sandy and his wife Tracy Thomas both of Centerville; step-daughters Johnelle and her husband Josh Sinnott, Danielle Bohn and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Aven and Ryan Sinnott, and Chance Cook all of Centerville; his nieces, Ashton and Shayna Thomas of Centerville, Smantha Ruby of Oceola, and nephews Kyle Thomas and Jasiah Masterson of Centerville; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
According to Scott's wishes, his body has been donated to medical research and no services are planned. The Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be left to the family's choice and may be sent to his mother: Leanne Thomas.
