GREENSBORO - "Jennie" Virginia Sink Busch Kent died January 16, 2010.
She was the daughter of Ralph F. Sink and Sara Parrish Sink, Jennie moved to reensboro as an infant and graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and Guilford College. She had a long history of volunteerism with memberships and involvements in numerous state and national organizations. Her long time passion was Hospice of Greensboro, where she worked as a volunteer for many years. She formerly served the community by volunteering with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, and Wesley Long Hospital. She also served as a spokesperson for United Way on behalf of Hospice. Jennie was a Certified Residential Specialist and served on the Board of Directors of the Greensboro Regional Realtors Association and as a State Director. She retired as the owner/broker of Jennie Busch Properties. She served on the Board of Adjustment, the Greensboro/Guilford County Crime Stoppers and as a member of The Kiwanis Club of Greensboro, and as an Adjunct Chaplin with Moses Cone Hospital. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Stephen Minister. Claus W. Busch, Jr. predeceased her.
She is survived by her husband, Joe W, Kent; daughter Jean S. Barnes; son, John Elliott Smith of Greensboro. Sister, Claire S. Boyer of Wilmington, N. C.; brother, Ronald E. Sink and wife Harriett of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Stephen, Courtney Caitlin, Kendra, Jenna, and Jaxon. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Linda K. Duckworth of Greensboro; Joe W. Kent, Jr. and wife Karen of Atlanta, Georgia, and their children, Kathleen, Claire, Joey and Michael; and John H. Busch of Lexington. S. C.
A celebration of her life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. After the service guests are invited to the fellowship hall to visit with family and friends.
Internment to be private.
