MIDWAY, UTAH - Leo Gertsch, 75 died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 of a heart attack.
Born June 25, 1925 in Midway, the youngest of 11 children, to Conrad and Elise Durtschi Gertsch. He was raised on a farm. Later, enlisted in the US Army in September 1950 and went to basic training at Camp Fort Riley, Kansas. He served overseas duty in Germany.
He was a lifetime cattle rancher and farmer. In his younger years he also
worked as a pile driver. For many
years he lived with his father and took care of him in his later years. Leo enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. He had a magnetic personality and recognized the best in people. He is survived by his sister Lena Morton, Rexburg, Idaho, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Midway Stake Center, 165 E. Center. Friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery in the care of the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home.
