Funeral Services for my Grandmother, Laura Ellen Wornell Gibson, age 65 of Newton, Texas were held at Noonday Baptist Church, Noonday, Texas where she was a member. Reverend Jack Williams officiated as her funeral.
MawMaw died Monday, June 27, 1966 at the home of my parents, Bennie and Gene Hall of Newton, Texas. My grandparents raised their daughters in Noonday and that is where my Grandpa was raised. They lived in Kilgore at one time but eventually moved to Newton where my Grandpa worked as a night watchman for Sartin Lumber Company.
Survining my grandmother are her husband, Remus Malcolm Gibson of Newton and six daughters: Geraldin Gibson Thedford and husband Mark of Kilgore, Essie Gibson Smith and husband Bill of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Billie Sue Gibson Grider and husband Joe or Orlando, Florida, Tommie B Gibson Rice and husband Louis of Goldanona, Louisiana, Wonell Gibson Williams and husband J.W. of Orange, Texas and Bennie Gibson Hall and husband Gene of Newton, Texas, fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
MawMaw was predeceased by her parents, a baby son from her first marriage and daughter Shirley Ann Gibson who is buried in the Noonday Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Gibson, Sam Gibson, Bobby Gibson, J.B. Gibson, Percy Thedford and Ernest Gibson.
