Was a son of Richard H. Ammerman and Luella Jameson in Harrison Co. Ky. brother to James K., Richard G., and Wm. S. Ammerman. Kirtley lived most of his life on the farm where he was born, he owned 210 acres of fertile farm land in Harrison Co. On Jan 23, 1908 he chose as his wife and life long companion Bird Lemmon, they were the parents of Helen Levi, Geo. Givens and Billie Boyd Ammerman. He and wife were members of the Christian Church, he was politically connected to the Democratic party.

CYNTHIANA--J Kirtley Ammerman, 83, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Memorial Hospital after several months' illness. He was a retired farmer and landowner, and was a warehouseman here for many years. A native of Harrison County, Ammerman was a director of the National Bank of Cynthiana ajnd a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Juanita Ammerman; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Perraut, Cynthiana; a son, George Givens Ammerman, Harrison County; a stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Mahaffey, Clevelanfd, Ohio; a stepson, William Thomas Lee, Louisville; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Whaley Funeral Home.
