Former Oswego resident Thomas E. Mott, 62, died Saturday, June 3, in Tonawanda. Services were Monday in Tonawanda. Private burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Oswego. Mr. Mott was born in Oswego. He was a professor of mathematics at the State University College at Buffalo. Mr. Mott was a graduate of Oswego High School and Union College, Schenectady. He received his master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Mott authored numerous articles on mathematics and was a member of the American Mathematics Society and the Mathematics Association of America. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the association's bylaws committee. Surviving are his wife, Sandra; four sons, Douglas, Jeffrey, Richard, and Philip, all of Chicago; and three daughters, Nancy, Tracy,and Kathrine, all of Chicago.
