"Mrs. Jane Balius, 31 years of age, a native of Alabama but resident of Biloxi for 17 years, died yesterday morning at thirty minutes past midnight, leaving a husband and three children. The funeral took place at 3:30 o'clock p.m. yesterday from her residence at the corner of Division and Iroquois street, and services were held at the city cemetery where interment took place. The community greatly sympathizes with the bereaved family".
Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 8, page 186: Jane was 31 years 5 months 16 days old when she died from "toxemia & pregnancy". Her husband was Joseph Balius. Her father was Charles Dismuke of Alabama. Her mother was from Mexico.∼Duplication
