Monday, May 26, 1969Mrs. Mildred McCoy Adams, 94, Route 3, died on Saturday morning at her home. Born near Creighton on Dec. 19, 1874, she was the daughter of James A. and Mary (Miller) McCoy. She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church.
On June 15, 1898 she was married in Creighton to Benjamin F. Adams who died on March 17, 1937. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Elta) Mason, Route 3, with whom Mrs. Adams made her home and Mrs. Erma Stevens Leap, Kansas City; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers. Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. at the Sweeney-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Metcalf officiating. Burial was in Adams Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chester Coleman, Ed Herd, Loy Sproat, Jack Bandrick, Ernest Thompson and Robert Burford. Honorary pallbearers were Bert Thompson, Gilbert Adams, Glen West, Elbert Coleman, Clyde Fitterling and Dick Ronemous.
