Mary Ellen VonAllmen, 95, Chesterfield, and formerly of West Plains, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at her daughter's home in Chesterfield. She was born Sept. 9, 1907 in Howell County, the daughter of Daniel and Relda Belle Johnson Collins.
On Aug. 14, 1929 she was married at West Plains, MO to John James VonAllmen, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2000.
Mrs. VonAllmen was of the Baptist faith with her membership in First Baptist Church of West Plains.
Survivors include four daughters, Marvell Kassing, Chesterfield, MO; June Pulos and husband, Gus, St. Louis, MO; Barbara Parker and husband, Ned, Owasso, OK; and Sue Brown and husband, Dan, St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren, Cindy Kassing Melvin and husband Mark, Jason Pulos and wife Barbara, Steven Parker and wife Kim, Ellen Brown Cole and husband Greg, and Daniel Brown; 4 great-grandchildren, Billy Melvin, Catherine Melvin, Elena Pulos and Gussie Pulos; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, he husband of 71 years, and one son-in-law, William H. Kassing.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at Oak lawn Cemetery, with Dr. Roger Freeman, of Houston, MO officiating, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, MO.
