Mabel Ellen Robison, daughter of John Wesley Robison and Jennie M. Peppers, was born on 10 Apr 1907 in Montpelier, Williams County, Ohio. She appeared in the census on 15 Apr 1910 in Bridgewater Township, Williams County, Ohio at age 3 living with her mother as head of household and 3 brothers and sisters. On 1 Jan 1920, Mabel is age 12 and living in Madison Township, Williams County, Ohio with her mother, who is head of household, and 4 brothers and sisters. This census incorrectly shows the family name as Robinson instead of the correct Robison. But it is clear from the names of the children that this is Mabel and her family.

Mabel Ellen Robison and Otis Borton were married on 10 Jan 1925 in Hillsdale, Michigan. Otis Borton, son of Joseph Andrew Borton and Rachel Luella Rininger, was born on 30 Mar 1899 in Wright Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan. They appeared in the census on 1 Apr 1930 still in Wright Township. Otis was a poultry farmer on his own farm. They were among those who reported having a radio. In 1940 they were recorded by the census with their 6 children living on Oak Street, Hudson, Lenawee County, Michigan and running their own hatchery business in Hudson. They were divorced in May 1944, but continued to work together in the poultry business.

The 4 older children graduated from Hudson High School. In the spring of 1950, Mabel sold the "farm" and bought apartments in Adrian. She moved to Adrian in the fall and her 2 youngest graduated from Adrian High School.

Mabel moved back to Hudson in 1978/9 and lived at Shady Lawn Trailer Park, Lot #32 in Hudson. In about 1982, she moved to an apartment in Adrian, at 1221 S. Main St. Apt. 706. Mabel was living there when she was injured in an auto accident, Jan 5th, on M-34 in Dover Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. She died 19 days after her car accident on 24 Jan 1986 at the age of 78 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan.
