Harvey Hite, 110, of Warren, died Feb. 16, 2008, at 4:30 P.M., at Heritage Pointe, where he was a resident.
Mr. Hite was believed to be the oldest male in Indiana at the time of his death.
He was a lifelong farmer and had farmed in Wells, Blackford, and Huntington counties. He also worked at the Esty Piano Company in Bluffton, attended Rock Creek School and was a member of the Huntington Church of the Brethren.
He was born Nov. 15, 1897 in Huntington County to John B. Hite and Lydia Jones Hite. He married Mary Edith Boyer on April 27, 1918, in Huntington. She preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 sons.
A daughter, a sister, and 7 grandchildren survive him.
Funeral services were held Feb. 20, 2008, at Glancy Funeral Homes-H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, with Chaplain Annette Baker officiating.
