Funeral services for Daniel Imhof, who died at Childress, Texas on July 2, were held Saturday, July 6, 1957 at the Methodist Church with Rev. Jon R. Nieves officiating. Interment was in the Yuma Cemetery.
Daniel Imhof, son of Daniel and Anna Stortz Imhof, was born in Humbolt, Nebraska, October 16, 1879 and departed this life Tuesday, July 2, 1957 at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 16 days.
At the age of 14 he moved with his parents to Guide Rock, Nebraska, where he was engaged in farming.
On January 12, 1904 he was united in marriage to Bertha K. Panzer at Red Cloud, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two sons and three daughters. They made their home in various places in Nebraska until 1918. At that time they moved to Fleming, Colorado. One year later the family moved to the Lone Star community where he resided until his death.
Early in life Mr. Imhof was baptized in the Methodist faith. He was a devout father and husband.
In 1950 he suffered a stroke and since that time had been in failing health.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; his children, August of Childress, Texas, Mrs. Mae Piper [Pieper], Mrs. Clara Rhoades, Edwin and Mrs. Ella Mustain, all of the Lone Star community; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two brothers, Will of Manitou Springs and Charlie of Colby, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and four half sisters and one half brother.—Yuma Pioneer, Thursday, July 11, 1957
