Theodore R. McLain III April 29, 1963- November 7, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA Mr. Theodore R. McLain III, "Teddy", 41, of 3874 Mulberry Dr., Columbus, passed Sunday at St.Francis Hospital.
A homegoing celebration will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Davis officiating and the Rev. Otis Buckner presenting the eulogy. Interment following in Evergreen Memory Gardens, according to Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 10, beginning at 12 Noon with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence at 10:30 a.m. the morning of the service.
A lifelong resident of Columbus, Mr. McLain was born April 29, 1963 to late Theodore, Jr. and Alice Thomas McLain. He was a 1980 graduate of Shaw High School and attended Columbus State University. He was employed with Kodak Polychrome as a computer tech and was also a painter. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he taught Vacation Bible School for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Valerie McLain of Columbus; a son, John Brockington of Columbus; a daughter, April Dawson (Tony) of Columbus; a sister, Dolly McLain Baker (Chuck) of Columbus; a granddaughter, Anastasia Murray of Columbus; father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Haynes of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Randal Haynes (Danita) of Clayton, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hawthorne and Joan Bowens (Fernando), both of Columbus; two aunts, Maggie Williams (George) of Nags Head, N.C. and Doris McKnight (Horace) of Rego Park, N.Y.; one uncle, Buford Thomas (Bessie); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
