Death: Oct. 28, 1909
Afton

Wyoming, USA

Opening prayer was offered by Elder Clarence Gardner.
Pres. Wilford A. Hyde said in part; Sister Wilkes has been a long sufferer, and everything has been done that could be. She felt that whatever the will of the Lord was, so be it. She was a devoted wife and mother, and it is a joy to know she is not dead in spirit.
Counselor Ozro Gardner paid the following tribute to her memory; That Sister Wilkes had chosen the better part, and that we wept because we loved her and those who suffer.
Counselor Archie Moffat said, I have known sister Mary since childhood; she was always a motherly child, and developed to be a devoted mother. I have no fear as to her future. She was a trusted officer in the Y.L.M.I.A.
Pres. W.W. Burton said, Sister Wilkes is an example of those who may receive the promise, blessed are they who die in the Lord, for they shall rest from their labors. The object of this life is to obtain experience, and her works will follow her; she is free from suffering and affliction. We all must meet this condition some time, and may we have joy when we leave this life in the assurance that we will enter into the rest of the faithful.
Bishop Low closed by saying, We who enjoy good health should appreciate it. Sister Mary desired to go and had received the consent of her husband and relatives and departed in peace.
There was an excellent attendance of the choir, who rendered the songs with deep feeling.
Benediction by Patriarch C.D. Cazier.
Pall bearers were Pres. W.A. Hyde, Coun. Archie Moffat, John Linford and Jos Michaelson.
